How the data is sourced, what paid placement does and does not do, and how to correct a mistake.
The source rule
Every maker, model, specification row, price band and video is stored with a source link and the date it was verified. If a value has no source it is not published. It shows as a gap rather than an estimate. Guides and glossary definitions list their sources at the foot of the page.
Freshness badges
- Verified [date]: the source was checked on that date, within the last 18 months.
- Verification due: the last check was more than 18 months ago. The value is still shown, with the date, until it is re-checked.
- Data older than 24 months no longer counts towards whether a page is indexed by search engines.
Paid placement
Some pages carry a slot labelled Featured Partner · paid placement. A maker pays for that slot. What it buys is the slot itself: a headline, a short description and a link. What it does not buy is any change to the order, contents or specifications in the lists, tables and comparisons on the page, or a different verdict in a guide. An open slot says so and links to the advertising page.
Photos and press images are used only with a licence or the maker's written permission, and carry their credit.
Quote requests
The site does not sell equipment. A quote request is shared with up to 3 relevant makers, only with the consent given on the form. See the privacy page.
Reporting an error
If a spec, price band, source link or date is wrong, say which page and which value, and include a link to a better source if you have one. Write to hi@foodprocessingworld.com. Corrections are made in the data files and the page is rebuilt.
