Station 06 of 06

Storage & Intralogistics

Storage and intralogistics is the last station on the line, where finished cases are stacked into unit loads and held until they are shipped. It covers palletisers, which build stable pallet loads from cases, bags or crates, and racking systems that store those pallets in ambient, chilled or frozen warehouses. The station links production to distribution, so it must keep pace with the packing lines while protecting product from crushing, temperature abuse and contamination. In cold stores the conditions are harsh: low temperatures affect steel, lubricants, batteries and people, and every square metre of refrigerated space is expensive to build and run, which pushes plants towards dense storage layouts. Buyers weigh throughput, load stability, the range of case and pallet patterns a palletiser can build, storage density against selectivity, suitability for low temperatures, stock rotation needs and safety. Well-planned storage keeps finished goods traceable, rotated in the right order and ready for dispatch.
