Satake was established in March 1896 and is headquartered in Higashi-Hiroshima, Japan; its founder built Japan's first power-driven rice milling machine. It makes machinery for the food industry, including rice and grain milling equipment and optical sorters for rice, grains, beans, nuts, seeds and coffee, sold in the Americas through Satake USA in Houston.
